Whether you would like to learn guitar for fun or would like to work towards a grade, I can help you to achieve your goals. I work with beginners right through to advanced students including those who are working towards diplomas.
Working towards a grade can be a great way to add structure to your learning and it can help you to know what level you are at on your instrument. The higher grades even give you UCAS points! I have a lot of experience helping students to prepare for their music exams with Rockschool, RGT and Trinity, all the way up to grade 8.
I offer private tuition from my home but can also travel to you depending on distance (a small fee may be required). I currently work at a busy music school in the West Midlands as well as teaching many students privately. I also have experience teaching group lessons in schools. I am a RGT registered guitar tutor. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and I subscribe to the update service.
Since the coronavirus pandemic, I have started offering online tuition too. This is ideal if you are too far away or would simply prefer to have lessons in the comfort of your own home. I currently use Skype, Zoom and Facetime but let me know if you would prefer a different platform. I will email music that we are working on and any other necessary resources in order to make online lessons just as effective as lessons in person.
I teach most guitar styles up to an advanced level including acoustic, classical, jazz, rock and blues and I teach both bluegrass and Celtic mandolin. All ages and abilities are welcome so whether you are a beginner looking to get things right from the start or an advanced student with more specific goals in mind, I can help!
